Since there’s been so much commotion on the planning board recently and we’ve covered so many important items for Edinburgh already, I think it’s time for another movie post disguised as a wedding post 😛
So… I went to see “Burlesque” (yes, that glittery Cher/Christina stripper musical movie no one admits they want to see – and yes, I know burlesque dancers aren’t technically strippers) yesterday on a friend’s suggestion. Not the film to see if you’re looking for great realism and challenging storylines, but that’s sort of obvious from the moment you see the movie poster.
One of the dancers gets married and totally pulls off the knee-length dress style – it looks fantastic on her. I couldn’t find any online pics of the scene on Google (I guess there’s no room for it next to all the scantily clad Christinas), but this is probably the next best thing:
I was going into this movie thinking it might quite possibly be, well, lame (apart from the fact that I knew Stanley Tucci is in it). I was wrong. I love it! I think every single person/performance/costume in there is absolutely fabulous.Case in point:
